Our Commitment
For many years, OCTA has worked to protect Orange County’s natural environment through the preservation, restoration, and long-term management of open space. Through Measure M, more than 1,300 acres have been protected, helping safeguard wildlife habitats and sensitive species for future generations.
OCTA also invites the community to experience these special places through docent-led hikes and equestrian rides.

The Eagle Ridge Preserve is a 301-acre property located southeast of Carbon Canyon Road (State Route 142) in the City of Brea, just northwest of Chino Hills State Park.
The Pacific Horizon Preserve is a 151-acre property located in the southeastern portion of the City of Laguna Beach, adjacent to Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park and Moulton Meadows Park.
The 204-acre Silverado Chaparral Preserve is located in the northern foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains within Silverado Canyon.
The Bobcat Ridge Preserve is a 48-acre property located northwest of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita in Trabuco Canyon.
The Live Oak Creek Preserve is an 84-acre property located along the south side of Live Oak Canyon Road in eastern unincorporated Orange County, north of Rancho Santa Margarita.
The Trabuco Rose Preserve is a 396-acre property located northwest of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita in Trabuco Canyon.
The Wren’s View Preserve is a 116-acre property located northwest of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita in Trabuco Canyon, immediately north of O’Neill Regional Park and Trabuco Creek.
Discover Local Wildlife
OCTA’s preserves provide important habitat for a variety of native wildlife, including mountain lions, bobcats, mule deer, coyotes, birds, reptiles and other sensitive species. These protected lands also help maintain important wildlife corridors, giving animals space to move between natural areas such as the Cleveland National Forest and surrounding open spaces. By protecting these preserves, OCTA helps safeguard critical habitats, maintain wildlife connectivity and ensure these natural areas continue to support native species for generations to come.
