Project Details

The Project area will begin on the west end at roughly the Padaro Lane overpass and continue east to a point approximately 1/3 mile west of Arroyo Paredon. In addition to the roughly one mile of siding, the project design will include signal system upgrades to support the new siding, which will integrate Positive Train Control(PTC) to ensure safe, reliable operations. Other design needs such as grading, utility relocations, drainage culvert extensions, and bridge widenings are being developed in the design phase. The design will be supported by geotechnical investigations to assess soil conditions and bearing capacity for the new track and structures. During the design phase, existing ground surveying and utility mapping will be performed to assess the grading needs and the utilities that will need relocation and/or protection. Conceptual community-friendly visual buffers, access, and safety improvements are being considered in coordination with stakeholders and residents.
