Save on weekend Daycations when you take your kids on Metrolink. On weekends, the Kids Ride Free discount allows up to three children 17 years old and under to ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Adults pay only $10 to ride Metrolink on Saturday or Sunday with the $10 Weekend Day Pass. No ticket is needed for children; they simply board the train with an accompanying adult. Face masks are required on Metrolink platforms and trains, except for children two years old and under.

• What is the Kids Ride Free Weekends promotion?
  The Kids Ride Free Weekends is a promotion that offers free train rides for children 17 years old and younger on Saturdays and Sundays when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Kids Ride Free Weekends provides families an affordable way to take a weekend day trip to explore Southern California destinations on Metrolink – and avoid the stress of traffic.
• I have a big family; can all my children ride free?
  Each fare-paying adult can be accompanied by up to three children, 17 years old and younger, at no additional charge. And on weekends, each adult pays just $10 for a Weekend Day Pass – so families small and large can have an affordable experience.
• Can kids travel alone for free?
  No. Children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult.
• Why is this promotion only on the weekend?
  As most people work during the week, weekends are a great time for families to spend time together visiting fun destinations, extended family and friends. Kids ages 6 and under always ride free on Metrolink – no matter the day of the week.
• Is the Kids Ride Free promotion on all Metrolink routes?
  Kids Ride Free is available on all Metrolink lines with weekend routes. Unfortunately, the Riverside County line does not currently offer weekend service.
• Why is the deal only for kids?
  Metrolink already has a weekend promotion in place for adults. With our $10 Weekend Day Pass, adults can ride all day anywhere Metrolink travels on weekends for one low fare. Coupled with the Kids Ride Free promotion, families can travel to multiple Metrolink destinations on the weekend for less than the cost of a tank of gas.
• Do children need to show proof of age? School ID or other form of identification?
  No, children do not need to show proof of age, they’re only required to be accompanied by a fare-paying adult.
• Does the promotional weekend include any portion of Fridays?
  No, the Kids Ride Free promotion is valid on Saturdays and Sundays only.
• Is the Kids Ride Free promotion valid only with the $10 Weekend Day Pass?
  No. Up to three children can ride for free with an adult who has a valid Metrolink ticket of any type.
• Why is Metrolink offering this promotion?
  Metrolink cares about the communities it serves. And we know that, after months at home families are looking for safe and affordable ways to change their routines and get out of the house. This promotion enables them to do that. At the same time, we are happy to support local businesses and destinations that are working to recover from the effects of COVID-19.
• How long will the promotion last?
  The Kids Ride Free promotion is part of our regular fare structure.
