Construction on Segment 2 of the SR-91 Improvement Project is expected to begin in early 2027.

Segment 3 Construction is Underway

Construction is underway on Segment 3 of the SR-91 Improvement Project. This segment includes improvements to the SR-91 between Acacia Street and La Palma Avenue and surrounding areas designed to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support long-term mobility throughout the corridor.

Crews are actively performing bridge, roadway, and utility construction activities throughout the project area. Work may include excavation, concrete placement, utility relocations, retaining wall construction, bridge improvements, and other related construction operations. Construction activities may require periodic daytime and nighttime lane closures, ramp closures, and detours.

Closures and Detours

La Palma Avenue Bridge Reconstruction

The La Palma Avenue Bridge will be closed for approximately one year to accommodate full demolition and reconstruction of the bridge. Additional information, including closure details and project updates, will be provided as the project progresses.

State College Boulevard Bridge Widening

The SR-91 bridge over State College Boulevard is being widened to improve traffic flow and safety. Crews are currently advancing bridge foundation work, excavating the bridge abutments, installing reinforcingreinforced steel for the abutment footings, and forming, pouring, and stripping the abutment footings. Motorists should continue to expect intermittent nighttime closures of State College Boulevard, associated on- and off-ramps, and outside SR-91 freeway lanes as this work progresses.
