Stuff OCTA Buses with Toys for Kids in Need on Dec. 16

Annual toy drive with KACB7 and local firefighters moves to the South Coast Metro area from 4 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

ORANGE – Those looking to spread some holiday cheer this year can help fill OCTA buses with toys for local children in need at the annual Orange County Stuff-a-Bus event from 4 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16.

The public is encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys or sporting equipment to a new location this year, 3900 S. Bristol Street, Santa Ana, CA 92704. Toys will be collected in the parking lot next to the Red Robin restaurant, northwest of Sunflower Avenue and Bristol Street, and distributed to children throughout Southern California.

Gifts for older children and teenagers, such as skateboards, watches and makeup brushes are also welcome.

ABC7 will be on-site to broadcast the event and greet the public, while first responders will help collect the toys and load them into buses, many provided by the Orange County Transportation Authority.

All donations benefit the Spark of Love Toy Drive, a program that has collected more than 10 million toys for local kids over the past 25 years. In addition to the Orange County event, toy collections are also being held this season in Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the Inland Empire.
