Application requirements to apply for college reduced fare status
You must be enrolled in 9 or more credit hours or units a semester or quarter at participating colleges or trade/technical schools. All college reduced fare status approved applications are valid for the time in which they are approved, with the expiration dates of December 31 and June 30. You must reapply for a college reduce fare status each semester you are attending a college/trade school to receive your reduced fare status.
Note: If you are a student at the one of the 9 Orange County Community Colleges, you do not need to apply for a college reduced fare status. To learn how to receive your Community College Benefit, click here.

What to Know
Applicants will be asked to provide their name, address, birthdate and other information.
A photo of the applicant will be taken during the application process.
Applicants applying in person may be issued their reduced fare status on the same day, depending on their application type.
If you plan to use the Wave mobile app to pay for rides, please download the app, create your Wave account, and set up a virtual Wave card and bring your phone with you. If you need help, the OCTA Store staff will be happy to assist you.
If you currently have a Wave card you would like to link your reduced fare status to, bring that card with you.
If you will require a Wave card, you can purchase one from the OCTA Store.
Before you visit the OCTA Store, please note that your reduced fare application will require third party authorization.
