About Our New App

We’ve made many improvements to the OC Bus App. It seems like a brand-new app because it is! The OC Bus App takes full advantage of your smartphone’s payment features, and lets you plan, pay and ride with ease. Following are highlights of the key features:

Flexible Payment Options
We’ve increased payment flexibility in the new OC Bus App to fit how you prefer to pay. Here are the top upgrades to our payment options.

  • Debit and credit cards (including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
  • Pre-paid debit cards
  • Apple and Google Pay
  • Transit Benefit cards. An employee pretax benefit program (cards issued from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover). Ask your employer for details.
Simple Interface
The simpler an app is to use, the more it will be used. This was the guiding principle behind the enhanced interface design of the OC Bus App.

Highlights include:
  • Simplified and intuitive navigation
  • Graphic passes for quick identification
  • Larger type on passes for increased readability
  • Larger QR Code to assist when boarding
  • Larger buttons for accurate navigation and input
  • Full screen passes that are easy to read

More Intuitive Pass Purchasing

The new OC Bus App makes purchasing more intuitive. It was designed to ease the transition from paper passes to mobile.

  • Color-coded passes by rider type using the same colors as our paper passes
  • Easy identifiable pass name with graphic
  • Quick and easy “Buy Now” feature takes you directly to check out

Pass Flexibility
Our new ticket center gives you the ability to see active and available passes much faster. Key improvements include:
  • Activated passes clearly indicate how many uses remain and the expiration date for each pass
  • Easy pass transfer when upgrading phones using our Customer Web Portal
  • Easily activate multiple tickets at once.

In-app Notifications
Receive important route notifications with the new app. Simply turn on service changes in the settings menu and you’ll be alerted to any changes. Look for a red dot on the notifications bell.
