The Orange County Transportation Authority (Authority) invites proposals from qualified consultants to conduct a fare study and develop a fare model that will function as a predictive tool for fare changes.
OCTA is making no changes to the ACCESS fare structure at this time. In addition to these changes, in October OCTA reduced its day pass fare from $5 to $4 for a six-month promotional period. The reduced day pass price is expected to increase ridership by 600,000 boardings over the six months.

As part of OC Bus 360°, a comprehensive plan to improve and sustain bus service and enhance the customer experience, OCTA has adjusted fares that affect service on fixed-route and express buses. OCTA proposed these changes after conducting a fare study.

These changes are part of OC Bus 360º, a plan which reallocates service to meet demand, introduces and improves services, and optimizes the efficiency and effectiveness of overall bus service. On June 10, OCTA will host a public hearing at the meeting of the OCTA Board of Directors.
Main areas of focus included project delivery, program management & responsiveness, compliance, fiscal responsibility, and transparency & accountability. Additional review of status of prior assessment findings, performance of OCTA’s delivery of M2 projects and programs, and opportunities for improvement.
