WHAT IS LOCAL FAIR SHARE? The Local Fair Share Program provides formula funding to help local cities and the County of Orange pay for the escalating cost of restoring the aging street system. In addition, cities can use these funds for other local transportation needs such as residential street projects, trafic and pedestrian safety near schools, and signal priority for emergency vehicles.

The OCTA and Metrolink team continues to work to resume safe passenger rail service as soon as possible. Over the past three years, San Clemente’s eroding bluffs – on both city and private property – have repeatedly forced the closure of the rail line which has operated largely uninterrupted for more than 125 years.

Approximately $9 million with be used to launch or extend transit services in Anaheim, Dana Point, Huntington Beach, La Habra, Laguna Beach and San Clemente. An additional $178,000 will be allocated to Irvine, Newport Beach and Orange to help fund transit planning studies.

Committee Member Comments: committee member asked if the San Clemente landslide had been totally repaired or was still under work. Dan Phu responded the City of San Clemente was still undertaking reinforcement of Casa Romantica, similar to our tie-down project at Cypress Shore, putting in anchor walls. They are halfway complete.
