Special Metrolink Service Planned For Swallows Day Parade

Avoid traffic by hopping on a train to San Juan Capistrano
ORANGE – Metrolink will extend service in Orange County on Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and March 21, to provide transportation to the Swallows Day Mercado Street Fair and Parade in San Juan Capistrano.

Parade-bound commuters can avoid traffic and parking fees by taking the Orange County Line Weekend trains 662 or 663, which will operate beyond Irvine to Laguna Niguel / Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano. Trains 661 and 664 also will provide service to the festivities.

The 52nd annual Swallows Day Mercado Street Fair and Parade is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the parade scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. The festival celebrates the return of the swallows to the Mission San Juan Capistrano every Saint Joseph’s Day, March 19.

A $29 four-pack of round trip tickets can be purchased from any Metrolink vending machine located at each station.
