The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) developed a hazard mitigation plan designed to support current OCTA emergency and crisis management plans and to strengthen the organization's preparedness to natural hazards.

Passenger Rail Service Set to Resume on Saturday, June 7 Passenger rail service, including Metrolink and Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner, is scheduled to fully and safely resume through South Orange County on Saturday, June 7, following the planned completion of construction of the initial phase of emergency efforts to reinforce the most vulnerable areas along the rail line in San Clemente.

Metrolink, in coordination with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), is proposing to extend 1.2 miles of railroad track in Dana Point. The siding track would be constructed adjacent to the existing main track and extend from Victoria Boulevard south to the rail crossing at Beach Road. The proposed project would reduce delays, increase safety, and provide more reliable service.

The scope includes relocation of SCE overhead and underground utility lines, poles, conduits, transformers, and related electrical facilities throughout the corridor, which spans from State Route 55 (SR-55) to Interstate 605 (I-605). These efforts are essential to prepare the corridor for construction and ensure that utility infrastructure is compatible with the planned improvements.
