Bus Operations Orange County began bus operations in August of 1972 with eight local fi xed routes. In the fi rst full year of operations in 1973, service consisted of 18 local fi xed routes and carried approximately 2.1 million riders. Today, service has grown to 81 bus routes and annual boardings exceed 68 million.

ORANGE – The annual rideshare week begins today through Oct. 6, encouraging people to use alternate forms of transportation and the Orange County Transportation Authority is calling on the commuting public to try a new way to get to work.
OC Bus will honor Metro monthly bus passes, MTA TAP and MTA TAP cards with EZ sticker at all bus stops along the line on the seven OC Bus routes that serve Los Angeles County (1, 30, 38, 42, 46, 50 and 60) or at bus stops where OC Bus directly connect with Metro buses. noTe: TaP cards are not accepted as transfers on rapid route 529 or 560.
