Since 1991, OCTA has been providing local jurisdictions with funding from OC Go (also known as Measure M), Orange County’s local sales tax for transportation improvements.

In 2020, OCTA also began operating 10 hydrogen fuel-cell electric buses. The pilot programs will help determine which technology – or mix of technologies – will work best for Orange County moving forward as OCTA plans to convert the entire OC Bus fleet to 100% zero-emission technology by 2040.

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Youth Ride Free Program is available for the 2024-25 school year. A new pass is required along with a new parental request form. Using the new pass, Orange County youth ages 6 to 18 can ride OC Bus for free for travel to school, work or fun all year long.
