Project Overview The I - 605 / Katella Avenue interchange is heavily used by motorists to reach employment centers , recreational attractions , shopping malls , medical centers , universities , and airports . The project will modify existing on - and off - ramps and add bike lanes and curb ramps in each direction of Katella Avenue to enhance safety and traffic flow .

Summary : This project improved mobility and operations by adding an eastbound lane ( approximately six miles ) through a key stretch of SR - 91 between Orange County ’ s SR - 241 and Riverside County ’ s SR - 71 , widened existing eastbound lanes and shoulders , and reduced traffic weaving as a result of traffic exiting at SR - 71 and Green River Road .
