The Grant Compliance Office is the Authority's focal point for guidance on federal rules and regulations, and is responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing OCTA's federal compliance oversight program, which includes assistance to OCTA's divisions in ensuring the responsible use of federal funding.

Future planning efforts are considering high speed rail service as part of a statewide system. Separate agencies manage and maintain each transportation component with a common purpose: mobility. OCTA is responsible for planning and coordination of county regional transportation components.
Since 1991 OCTA has kept residents and commuters moving throughout Orange County by bus, freeway, rail, bike, walking, and rideshare programs. Our projects and programs improve safety and efficiency on our local roads, provide bus service and regional multimodal connections, help people find ways to leave their cars home, and provide safe, convenient transportation to those with special needs.
Transit Projects Orange County’s rail and bus service will receive twenty-five percent (25%) of Net Revenues. These funds will be used to add transit extensions to the Metrolink corridor, reduce bus fares for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, and establish local bus circulators. On October 11, 2021, the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors approved the distribution of $10.931 million of Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act funds to the Orange County local agencies for local streets and roads rehabilitation and maintenance projects through the 2021 Pavement Management Relief Funding (PMRF) Program.
Irvine Metrolink Station The Irvine train station is located at 15215 Barranca Parkway and is accessible from Alton Parkway at the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5). Opened in 1990, the station serves nearly 3,000 Amtrak and Metrolink passengers daily. Today, the Irvine train station is the second most heavily used station in Orange County.
