The Orange County Transportation Authority, in coordination with Metrolink, is taking emergency action to stabilize the rail line in north San Clemente. The work is necessary to address urgent threats from slope and beach erosion and to protect the community, rail passengers and overall rail operations.

The Study will evaluate strategies to protect the railroad in place for up to 30 years to help minimize interrupted rail operations and passenger rail disruptions. The Study will include a detailed analysis of seven miles of vulnerable coastal track stretching between Dana Point and San Clemente to the San Diego County Line.

This project is for demolition and clearance services of two commercial properties, a retail rug store and a Chevron gas station, for the Interstate 5 Widening Project, Segment 1, in the cities of Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo.
