The OC Loop serves about 650 , 000 Orange County residents and thousands of visitors every year seeking refuge from the traffic and noise of urban life . The OC Loop allows people to connect with their environment and see parts of Orange County that most people in their cars don t often notice .

66 miles of seamless connections and an opportunity for people to bike , walk and connect to some of California s most scenic beaches and inland reaches . Paths along the OC Loop attract and serve users of all ages and skill levels . The vast majority of people do not . WHY IS THE OC LOOP IMPORTANT ?

Since 1991 OCTA has kept residents and commuters moving throughout Orange County by bus , freeway , rail , bike , walking , and rideshare programs .

Emergency action is necessary to address urgent threats from slope and beach erosion and to protect the community , rail passengers and overall rail operations . The work is projected to include approximately 95 % sand and 5 % rock reinforcement , known as riprap , only to be placed where needed to stabilize the slope and protect the track .

Occasionally you will need to use more than one bus to reach your destination .

OC Parks offers an extensive regional trail system with hundreds of miles of unpaved trails and paved bikeways . Information is available on the website and in this regional trail brochure . The system offers great recreational and commuting opportunities .

OCTA is working with transportation officials in cities along the OC Loop to create 66 miles of seamless bikeway and pedestrian connections across Orange County from La Habra to Seal Beach , Huntington Beach to Yorba Linda .

To help keep riders safe and informed , OCTA recently updated its comprehensive OC Bikeways Map . The map features new bikeways added since 2020 and clearly indicates the four classes of bikeways and in some cases their elevations .
