This summer, OCTA will introduce a paperless fare payment system that will allow riders to pay only for rides taken rather than the fixed dollar amount on paper passes. Called Wave, it will include a new account-based system, a reloadable smart card, and a new mobile app.

OCTA approved a contract to help maintain bus stops across Orange County, ensuring riders get updated, reliable route information wherever they board an OC Bus. The $1.6 million contract with ShelterClean Services, Inc. is for a three-year term beginning Dec. 1, with the option to extend the contract through 2028.

OCFundtracker is the online database for the TIP in Orange County and the means by which project revisions are processed. An updated system has been released, and major changes are reviewed in the Tutorial and Amendment Guide.

reDuCeD fareS avaiLaBLe Too! You can purchase reduced college, senior and disabled fares on the OC Bus App. You must have an OCTA issued College, Senior or Disabled Reduced Fare ID Card or electronic mobile number to access the reduced fares.

OCTA is continuing its transition to a zero-emission bus fleet and remains committed to complying with the Innovative Clean Transit Rule passed by the California Air Resources Board in 2018, requiring all transit agencies to transition to a zero-emission bus fleet by 2040.
