ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority has appointed Jennifer L. Bergener, a veteran of the agency and the transportation industry, to serve as OCTA’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Gabriel joined OCTA’s Internal Audit Department as a Principal Internal Auditor in December 2011. He is responsible for managing and coordinating OCTA's annual financial and compliance audits. He also performs contract audits, operational audits, and internal control reviews.

Director Vicente Sarmiento serves as the Second District Supervisor of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. He joined the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors in January 2021. Director Sarmiento was first appointed to the Santa Ana City Council to represent Ward 1 in January 2007.

The 351-mile Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor (LOSSAN Corridor) travels through a six-county coastal region in Southern California and is the second busiest intercity passenger rail corridor in the United States and the busiest state-supported Amtrak route.

OCTA will focus its advocacy eforts on the following principles. Support eforts to mitigate costs associated with the development, testing, purchase, and operation of zero-emission transit buses, including an alternative electricity rate structure, tax incentives, and other forms of financial assistance.
