The House of Representatives followed by approving HR 1 on July 3, 2025, with a vote of 218-214. The President signed the legislation into law on July 4, 2025.
Applications are due by May 31, 2025 and selection is competitive. Applicants must be 13 to 18 years old as of Sept. 1, 2025, reside in Orange County, and be entering grades 9 to 12 at an Orange County public or private school.
