These standards require that auditors be independent in both mind and appearance with respect to the entities for which they perform audit services. Internal Audit has established policies and procedures to comply with the standards, and OCTA has established an internal audit function that is organizationally independent.

Federal environmental policies afecting OCTA include the National Environmental Protection Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act. Therefore, policies to further develop environmental and energy-eficient goals will likely have an impact on OCTA’s operations. With such proposals in mind, OCTA will:

OCTA has been working with local cities, the county and Caltrans on a study that evaluates and updates the Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program with current traffic and technology trends in mind to further benefit drivers.
