OC ACCESS Service ( General Information ) OC ACCESS is a shared - ride paratransit service that is available to qualified applicants whose physical or cognitive limitations prevent them from utilizing OCTA ’ s regular fixed route bus service .

These route changes maximize efficacy , increase bus service on high ridership routes , reduce the wait time to catch bus and simplify route structures .

To save time , buy your OC Fair Express passes in advance with our user - friendly mobile app , just $ 2 each way . Alternatively , you can pay with exact change and buy a round - trip ticket for $ 4 on the bus . Youth ages 18 and under ride for free and do not need a pass . Regular OC Bus fares and passes are also accepted .

Efective February 9 , 2025 The Bus Service Change Improvements provides a summary of the upcoming service improvements to OC Bus . This service change will provide minor schedule changes to improve service quality . Route adjustments will be made to Routes 89 and 177 to provide service to areas afected by the discontinuation of Routes 82 and 87 .
