Metrolink commuter rail was added to Orange County. Prior to 1991, Amtrak was the only passenger rail service, operating one train daily between Los Angeles and San Juan Capistrano. Now OCTA works with Metrolink to fund 54 weekday and 16 weekend trains serving the county.

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority has launched a pedestrian and bicycle safety campaign, called (B)right, to educate children how to stay safe after dark as the end of daylight-saving time approaches on Nov. 1.
OC Flex, an on-demand curb-to-curb service, will continue providing rides through October as part of a pilot project. Here are some of the ways to stay clear and stay safe during Rail Safety Month and throughout the year. Distracted driving on or near railroad tracks is dangerous. Each year, a startling number of people are killed or injured in an incident involving a train. Be aware and always stay clear of the crossing.
