Participants who live and/or work in San Juan Capistrano or San Clemente hear and see the train frequently and have learned about the existence of the train through its obvious presence.

OCTA owns approximately 40 miles of the Orange Rail Subdivision in South Orange County located between San Clemente and Fullerton, which is part of the 350-mile Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Railroad Corridor.

OCTA completed the San Clemente beach train enhancements and completed parking lot expansion at Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo. Other projects were advanced through the environmental, design, and construction phases.

The Camarillo, Moorpark, San Clemente Pier, and San Diego Old Town stations have limited service (not all trains stop at these stations). In addition, six daily Pacific Surfliner trains currently stop at four COASTER stations (Sorrento Valley, Encinitas, Carlsbad Poinsettia, Carlsbad Village) under the Rail 2 Rail program with NCTD.
