The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) have begun construction on the SR-22 / I-405 segment of the West County Connectors (WCC) project. During the weekend of Oct.15 – 18, full ramp closures will occur to allow for paving, lane re-striping and utility construction.

The project is part of M2 Project G, which is included in the M2 Next 10 Delivery Plan and will complement the SR-57 Lambert Road Interchange Project currently under construction. This project will construct a truck climbing lane on the SR-57 from the Lambert Road interchange to just north of the Orange County/Los Angeles County Line.

The M2 Ordinance No. 3 (M2 Ordinance), included as Appendix A, outlines the eligibility requirements that local jurisdictions must satisfy to receive M2 Net Revenues. The M2 Eligibility Guidelines (Eligibility Guidelines) provide the resources local jurisdictions need to remain eligible to participate in M2 funding programs. Guidelines for newly incorporated cities are outlined in Appendix B.

The M2 NCCP/HCP has been prepared to fulfill the requirements for issuance of an incidental take permit under Section 10 of the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) and incidental take authorization under Section 2835 of the state Fish and Game Code (California Natural Community Conservation Planning Act—NCCPA).

The Orange County Transportation Authority (Authority) invites sealed bids for pavement rehabilitation at the Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach (NWSSB). The purpose of this project is to make repairs to pavement that has deteriorated over time. The pavement condition after the repairs shall provide a smooth driving surface applicable to the mission use of the paved surfaces.

Facility Description I-405, also known as the San Diego Freeway, has 24 miles in Orange County and 48 miles in Los Angeles County. It is a bypass route to I-5. Within the proposed project limits, I-405 is a controlled-access freeway with 8 to 10 mixed-flow GP lanes, 2 high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, 6 local interchanges, and 3 freeway-to-freeway interchanges at SR-55, SR-133, and I-5.
