On April 4, 2022, Metrolink partially restored some services in response to customer feedback and demand for more train trips to accommodate ridership recovery efforts. The three lines serving Orange County now operate 45 weekday trains, a 17 percent reduction from 54 weekday trains.

Most of the changes are only a few minutes but several may shift up to 40 minutes. Irvine Metrolink Station The Irvine train station is located at 15215 Barranca Parkway and is accessible from Alton Parkway at the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5). Opened in 1990, the station serves nearly 3,000 Amtrak and Metrolink passengers daily. Today, the Irvine train station is the second most heavily used station in Orange County.
