In addition, the California Coastal Commission last week approved a request for a Coastal Development Permit to construct a catchment wall at Mariposa Point and restore the pedestrian trail. The 1,400-foot-long catchment wall will help protect the rail line from sliding debris from the privately owned hillside above the track.

The OCTA Community College Pass Program provides students at all nine Orange County community colleges with free travel on the OC Bus service to school, work or fun on safe, clean and reliable buses.
Passenger rail service, including Amtrak and Metrolink, was stopped in late September out of an abundance of caution and to allow for the emergency repairs. OCTA and its contractors will continue to work in the project area to cover the retaining wall and replant native vegetation.
