Project Details Today, nearly 360,000 motorists travel I-5 daily between SR-73 and El Toro Road. Transportation planners forecast traffic volumes will grow 25 percent by 2045. To address this travel demand, OCTA and Caltrans are working together to construct the I-5 South County Improvements Project from SR-73 to El Toro Road.
ORANGE – As part of ongoing efforts to protect a vital rail link in south Orange County, the Orange County Transportation Authority is inviting the public to participate in an online public meeting to learn about and provide feedback on the Coastal Rail Resiliency Study.
The Central Coast Layover Facility project, which lays the groundwork for improvements in rail travel along California’s Central Coast, reached another milestone with recent site inspections and evaluations that will kick off engineering and environmental clearance processes.
The latest forecast produces an expected inflation rate of 2.31% over the entire forecast horizon from 2025 to 2050 (compared to 2.28% last year over the same forecast window). Relative to expected inflation last year, we expect inflation to be higher in the near-term (2026 and 2027) and relatively consistent (with last year’s expectation) from 2028 to 2050.
