Provides competitive funding to local jurisdictions to regularly coordinate and network 2,000 signalized intersections over 750 miles of roadway within Orange County.
OCTA issued its annual call for projects aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion throughout Orange County.
This is a fixed-scope program which provides funding for passenger amenities at the 100 busiest bus stops in Orange County determined by average daily weekday passenger boardings.
Developed in conjunction with the California State Transportation Agency to represent projects from all parts of the state, the list includes planned improvements to freeways, transit systems, bridges, ports and levees, among other infrastructure.
Program funds will be allocated on a countywide competitive basis to assist jurisdictions in meeting the Clean Water Act for controlling transportation-generated pollution. The funds are designed to supplement, not supplant, existing transportation-related water quality programs.
Selected projects are highlighted here, some with before and after photos that depict major improvements. OC Go also helps OCTA, the county’s transportation agency, leverage state and federal money to make improvements.
The CTFP was created to provide a common set of guidelines and project selection criteria for a variety of funding programs, establishing a simplified and consistent process.
OCTA recently distributed $25.3 million dollars from OC Go for street maintenance projects such as repairing potholes, repaving streets, and synchronizing signals. OC Go, also known as Measure M, is Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements.

OCTA has allocated $623.32 million for street improvements since the program’s inception in 2011. Cities and the county can use these funds for residential street projects including pothole repair, traffic and pedestrian safety near schools and signal priority for emergency vehicles.
