Ten miles of transportation efficiency

From 2003 through the past year, the 91 Express Lanes continued to give customers the benefits of a faster, more reliable commute and an average savings of 30 minutes per trip. A new account management software system increased the accuracy of financial transactions and enhanced the self-service aspect of the 91 Express Lanes’ website.

During the year, OCTA signed a cooperative agreement with the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) to extend the 91 Express Lanes eight miles east from the Orange/Riverside County line to the Interstate 15 (I-15) interchange. Also during the past year, OCTA negotiated with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to eliminate OCTA’s interest in the 91 Express Lanes in Riverside County and to extend the terms of OCTA’s lease agreement from 2030 until 2065.
