Last week, state and local officials joined OCTA and Caltrans to
break ground on the I-5 Improvement Project through Irvine and
Tustin, marking an important milestone and real progress toward
improving safety, mobility, and reliability along one of Orange
County’s busiest corridors. These nearly
nine miles of improvements will ease congestion, modernize
interchanges, and better support everyone who travels through the
area, whether by car, bike, foot, or transit. This project
reflects OCTA’s commitment to building a
balanced, sustainable, and multimodal transportation
system, while enhancing quality of life and supporting
economic vitality throughout Orange County.
