South OC MISSouth Orange County’s Major Investment Study Moves Forward

Welcome to the Web site for the South Orange County Major Investment Study (SOCMIS). The study effort, led by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is examining the transportation needs of south Orange County and is part of OCTA’s strategic effort to keep Orange County moving over the next 25 years.

Visit often to learn more about the study, provide us with feedback, submit questions or concerns, and sign-up for the study mailing list to receive study updatesas well as notification when public meetings and surveys are available.

Through a combination of technical study and public feedback, a draft Locally Preferred Strategy (LPS) has been developed. The draft LPS provides numerous transportation solutions to improve the way South County travels. The draft LPS includes a mixture of investment in freeways, toll roads, streets, and transit. OCTA is soliciting public comments and feedback on the draft LPS, which is being considered by the study’s Policy Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC will then provide a recommendation for consideration by the OCTA Board of Directors.
