Metrolink’s Holiday Express Delights Riders

Metrolink recently welcomed riders aboard two sold-out Holiday Express trains departing from Irvine. At this specially ticketed event, passengers were treated to a joyful experience complete with holiday carolers, special character appearances and meet-and-greets with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Many thanks to OCTA Directors Go, Tavoularis and Tettemer for joining in the holiday festivities.

Though the Holiday Express has wrapped for the season, Metrolink has plenty of holiday-and-beyond events waiting for you and your family. After all, a train ride always adds a little magic to the journey.

OC Streetcar Takes a Test Roll

For the first time, an OC Streetcar vehicle successfully ran on electricity along the Pacific Electric Right of Way, a big milestone that confirms the overhead power system is working as it should.

Orange County’s first modern streetcar will make it easier to get around by connecting with many of OC’s core bus routes. Whether you’re commuting, shopping, or heading out for fun, the streetcar will offer new, convenient ways to reach jobs, stores, and regional transit.

Over the next few months, testing will continue to make sure the system is safe, reliable, and ready for riders.

When complete, the OC Streetcar will travel between Santa Ana and Garden Grove, with easy connections to existing bus and rail service. Check out the streetcar’s first journey!

Bikes and Buses Make Great Travel Partners

Whether you received a new bike for Christmas or just want to take your existing two-wheeler out for a spin, you can travel farther, get more exercise and help the environment by bringing your bike (including e-bikes) on OC Bus to continue your journey.

Each bus is equipped with a rack that can accommodate up to three bikes that meet these specifications. E-bikes are allowed as long as they fit the same profile as a regular bike, conform to the specifications, fit securely on the bike rack and weigh 55 pounds or less. In addition, bikes/e-bikes are not permitted inside the bus unless they are foldable or during the last bus trip of the day.

Check out these tips on safely loading and unloading your bike and enjoy your rides!
