Youth Ride Free Passes

Youth Ride Free passes for the 2023-24 school year are now available from your child’s participating Orange County school.

Last year’s pass (orange) will continue to be valid until September 30, 2023. Don’t wait to get the new 2023-24 pass, which is valid until September 30, 2024!

Partnering for Success

To ensure the greatest number of youth benefit from free access to public transportation for school, work and leisure, OCTA continues to partner with K‑12 schools and parents to deliver the Youth Ride Free program. Passes are available with a parental request form available from schools. Contact your child’s school or see the sections below for more information.

An Equitable Way to Re-Engage

Economic Recovery

The Youth Ride Free Pass supports the economic recovery of Orange County and helps mitigate the financial impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic on low income and diverse populations by allowing youth from all over Orange County to equitably re-engage with all Orange County has to offer.

Grant Funds Offer Many Benefits

The program is grant-funded by the California Department of Transportation and the California Air Resources Board through California Climate Investments which help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen the economy, and improve public health and the environment.
