Just Click Steps to Success

OCTA’s JustClick Trip Planner is a valuable online tool that can help you plan your OCTA bus or Metrolink train trip based on our current transit schedules. Simply type in your starting and ending points, and the time you want to arrive. The trip planner will give you a choice of itineraries that you can print and take with you for all available bus trips that are in the OCTA bus service area. For longer destinations, the trip planner will also include Metrolink rail connections. Here’s how to use JustClick.

1. Specify the origin of your trip

  • Identify your origin by address, intersection, landmark or bus stop by clicking on the corresponding tab.
  • After you’ve clicked on one of the tabs, simply fill out the information in the boxes. You can use the drop down boxes to find your location or start typing it into the box.

2. Specify the destination of your trip

  • Identify your destination by address, intersection, landmark or bus stop by clicking on the corresponding tab, just like you did with the origin of your trip.
  • After you’ve clicked on one of the tabs, simply fill out the information in the boxes. You can use the drop down boxes to find your location or start typing it into the box.

3. Indicate when you want to travel

  • Select the date and time you would like for your trip. The trip planner provides information within a two-hour timeframe.
  • •If you do not receive a schedule for the date and time you selected, there may be no bus or rail service within two hours of your requested time. In that case, try planning your trip for a different time, or check the bus and Metrolink schedules to find a time that will work for you.

4. Indicate how you want to travel

  • Specify how you want the trip planner to plan your trip, whether it’s “fastest trip”, “fewest transfers” or “shortest walk.” “Fastest trip” is the trip with the least total trip time. “Fewest transfers” is the trip with the least amount of bus or train transfers required to complete the trip. “Shortest walk” is the trip with the least amount of walking.
  • You can also choose whether you prefer the bus, train or either. If you have no preference, choose both bus and train.

5. Adjusting your trip

  • After you have completed steps 1 through 4, click on “Show my trip plan.” Once your trip is displayed, you can e-mail or print the instructions by clicking on the links at the top right-hand side of the page. From this page, you can also select a plan with an earlier arrival or later departure time, choose a plan with an alternate path, or return to the previous page to change your options. When you are ready to plan your return trip, simply click on the appropriate link near the top of the page.

6. Troubleshooting
