Join the Swallows in San Juan Capistrano Swoop into town on Metrolink Saturday, March 20, for the Swallows Day Mercado Street Fair and Parade. There’s fun for the whole family during the Fiesta de las Golondrinas. The festival celebrates the return of the swallows to the San Juan Capistrano Mission every Saint Joseph’s Day, March 19. Street Fair with Food & Entertainment Come early to the Swallows Day Mercado Street Fair and Market Place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20. There will food, drink and over 100 booths where you can shop. Enjoy live music, family entertainment and a kids’ play zone in the Historic Town Center Park. A Parade Like No Other The Swallows Day Parade is the largest non-motorized parade in the entire nation. The parade is known far and wide. Everyone will enjoy the equestrian entries and the music of the lively marching bands. The parade begins at 11:00 a.m., and it’s a good idea to arrive early.
Get There On Metrolink Metrolink makes it easy for you to enjoy the Swallows Day Mercado Street Fair and Parade during the Fiesta de las Golondrinas in downtown San Juan Capistrano. On the weekend of March 20 and 21 only, Orange County Line Weekend trains 662 and 663 will operate beyond Irvine to Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano. Trains 661 and 664 will also get you to the Swallows Day Mercado on Saturday March 20, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in San Juan Capistrano’s Historic Town Center Park.
