The OCTA State Relations Department carries out the positions and directives of the OCTA Board of Directors on issues related to OCTA in Sacramento. Each year, the State Relations Department drafts, and the Board of Directors approves, an annual state legislative platform which highlights the critical transportation issues anticipated for the legislative session and Board policy positions on various issues. Based on the approved legislative platform, OCTA state relations staff works with Board Members, elected officials, stakeholders, Legislative Leadership, and the Administration to achieve the policy directives of the Board through legislative or regulatory activities.
