
Completed Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22) project improvements include:
- Two continuous access carpool lanes (one in each direction) from Tustin Avenue to Valley View Street
- General purpose and auxiliary lanes (the far outside right lanes when merging onto the freeway) between Valley View Street and Tustin Avenue
- Beach Boulevard interchange
- On- and off-ramps between Valley View Street and Tustin Avenue
- Local street repair
- New lanes on The City Drive, Garden Grove Boulevard/Fairview and Magnolia Street
- Soundwalls and medians
- Seismic retrofit of bridges
- Signage
- Rubberized Asphalt overlay on westbound SR-22 between Euclid Street and Magnolia Street
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to accept the project from OCTA in early 2008. Off-peak and nighttime closures will continue until this milestone is met to conduct punchlist work and landscaping activities. Punchlist items include pavement, curb and gutter repairs as well as a few isolated street and signage repairs.
