TRAFFIC LIGHT SYNC PROGRAM (M1 and Proposition 1b)
Positive Results equals more green lights
Based on the results found in the signal demonstration projects, OCTA worked with Caltrans and local cities to develop the Traffic Light Synchronization program. The program, which was funded with $8 million of Measure M and Proposition 1B grants, comprised of 10 roadways synchronized nearly 550 signals over 129 miles.

Noticeable improvement in traffic flow
Traveling speeds increased an average of nearly 20 percent. This means, for every hour someone drives, that person will experience time savings of up to 12 minutes.
