Route Elimination & Options
This section includes routes that will be eliminated. You’ll find a map and alternate routes for each eliminated route. The alternate routes are suggestions to help you travel and may not exactly match the eliminated route. Another alternative may be travel by train. You can find Metrolink information at www.metrolinktrains.com and Amtrak information at www.amtrak.com.

Costa Mesa to Mission Viejo
(Route Eliminated Saturday)
Optional routes traveling east/west: 70 or 90
Your best alternate for Route 86 is Route 70 or new Route 90 (previously part of Route 70, see Route Restructuring for details). You can also take Routes 55 or 145 that cover the same route as the 86 at Bristol and Sunflower.
For travel to John Wayne Airport on weekends, take long-turn Route 53 to the Airport’s Main Street Parking Lot at 1512 Main Street, Irvine, CA 92614, between Sky Park Circle and Red Hill, then take the free shuttle service (every 15 minutes) to the Terminal. For more shuttle information, call (949) 252-5200 and dial “0” after the recording to speak to an Airport Operator. A map is available at www.ocair.com.
