Direct Bus Service from Irvine to LAX

The Irvine City Council recently agreed to a licensing agreement that would allow the Los Angeles World Airports' FlyAway direct-route bus service to travel between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the Irvine Station. This program could be launched as early as mid-November.

The bus service is a longtime initiative of the Irvine City Council to provide transportation alternatives. And it's good news for Orange County travelers who frequently fly out of the international airport.

The Irvine Station is a logical location for the program because it is one of Orange County's busiest transportation centers with OCTA bus service as well as Amtrak and Metrolink service.

The FlyAway bus service is expected to provide 12 nonstop roundtrip rides daily between LAX and the Irvine Station and the one-way fare is anticipated to be between $20 and $25.
