Orange County Metrolink Service Expansion

In 2005, OCTA's board of directors approved the Metrolink Service Expansion Program (MSEP) to provide More frequent train service between Fullerton and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo. Increased weekday service will launch in 2010.

The $382.5 million Metrolink Service Expansion Program is funded by Measure M, Orange County's half-cent sales transportation tax.

ORANGE COUNTY LINES

Metrolink is Southern California's rail system that links residential communities to employment and activity centers. Metrolink is operated by the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA)—a joint powers authority of five member agencies representing the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura. As one of five member agencies, OCTA administers all of Orange County's Metrolink rail corridor service.

Orange County's Metrolink commuter rail service serves 11 stations in Orange County and provides a total of 44 round trips every weekday on three lines:

  • Orange County (OC) Line: with daily service from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside
  • Inland Empire-Orange County (IEOC) Line: with daily service from San Bernardino to Oceanside
  • 91 Line: service from Riverside to Los Angeles Union Station, via Fullerton and Buena Park

Metrolink Weekends service was introduced in 2006 on the OC and IEOC Lines.  Now you can enjoy weekend entertainment, family activities, shopping and dining without the traffic and parking hassles.

Plus, Metrolink Weekends fare is 25% off the adult weekday fare.

Just hop aboard a comfortable Metrolink train on Saturday or Sunday and let the adventures begin!

You'll find a list of stations for each Metrolink line on the 5-County System Map page. OCTA has many bus routes that connect with all Orange County Metrolink stations. StationLink routes offer Metrolink ticket holders FREE connections between stations and major employment and activity centers with schedules designed to meet Metrolink weekday train arrivals and departures. You can find route maps for OCTA buses by clicking on the individual stations listed on the OC Station Maps page.
