How to Ride

Even if you’ve never taken the train, riding Metrolink is easy. Just follow these four steps:

Find the station that you’ll leave from and the station nearest your destination. You can use the Interactive System Map to locate the stations and see which Metrolink line connects the two stations.

Check the schedule for the line you’ll be riding. Arrive at your station 15 minutes before departure so you don’t miss your train.

Purchase your ticket from a ticket vending machine located at the station. Please present your ticket to the fare inspector upon request. Remember tickets are not sold onboard the train, so you must have a valid ticket before boarding.

Board the train and enjoy the ride. An electronic sign in the exterior window of each passenger car indicates the final station stop for that train. Check this sign, as well as the line each train is traveling to be sure it will reach your station. Also, check for the track number at stations with more than one track. Signage at the station will direct you.
