Year of the Tiger Brings Good Fortune

Saturday, February 20, 2010. Event starts at 8:15 a.m.  (Tickets will be handed out starting at 7:30 a.m.) Irvine Station 15215 Barranca Parkway Irvine, CA 92618 FREE parking FREE entertainment including Lion Dance FREE Metrolink round-trip tickets to the first 100 guests* provided by VPSI. Ride Metrolink to Chinatown in Los Angeles and attend the Chinese New Year Parade and Festival. Parade starts at 1:00 pm. *Tickets will be handed out day of event starting at 7:30 a.m. to the first 100 people in line. First come, first served. Tickets good only on Feb. 20, 2010 for the 9:38 a.m. train from Irvine to Los Angeles Union Station and return. No rain checks. Metrolink tickets also good on LA Metro’s Gold Line to Chinatown for the parade and festival.

 

New Service For a New Year
Metrolink riders have a lot more to celebrate besides the new year of the tiger. More Metrolink service is coming between the Fullerton and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo stations. Travel through Orange County during the day will be easier with 12 additional trips (six trips in each direction) on the Orange County Line between Fullerton and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo. This increased service will begin in fall 2010.

The new, more frequent service is part of the Metrolink Expanded Service Program (MSEP). Track and station improvements are also part of the MSEP and are under way in preparation for the increased service. For more information, visit www.octa.net/metrolink.
