EOC Public Workshop
OCTA is currently building an inventory of potential conservation sites that may be available and eligible for future acquisition or restoration through OCTA’s Freeway Mitigation and Resource Protection Program (Mitigation Program).
The Renewed Measure M Environmental Oversight Committee (EOC) is inviting all property owners, managers, and interested parties with habitat conservation opportunities to give a short presentation on Orange County properties that may be available and eligible for land acquisition or restoration funds.
EOC Public Workshop
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
From 5 to 7 p.m.
OCTA
600 South Main Street, Orange, 92863
The EOC is looking for the following information to be included in each presentation:
- Provide location, acreage, and ownership
- Identify types of species and habitat
- Present watershed information (if applicable)
- Address how property applies to the criteria
- Comment on land availability for mitigation purposes
- List available references to support property characteristics
Each presenter will have up to eight minutes to speak. One speaker per presentation is strongly recommended. Any PowerPoint presentations are to be submitted by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. The order in which the slides are submitted will determine the order of the presentations during the workshop.
For those who plan to provide handouts, the EOC requests that each presenter only provide 20 copies of a one- to two-page summary of the property. Once the presentations are complete, the workshop will close with a 30-minute public comment period in which participants have one minute each to speak.
Any landowners, property managers or groups who have already presented before the EOC need not present again at this workshop. Please also note that those who are unable to present at the workshop will not be penalized during the selection process.
Please RSVP by Friday, April 3 and provide any PowerPoint presentations by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. If you have questions about the mitigation program or public workshop, contact Senior Community Relations Specialist Marissa Espino at (714) 560-5607.
