Boarding a Bus

A new rapid bus service is on the way from the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). It’s called Bravo!

OCTA’s Bravo! service is a new approach to traditional bus service. Bravo! service is designed to decrease travel time for customers and improve travel speed within high ridership corridors.

Bravo! buses will offer frequent service weekdays only from approximately 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will have a distinct identity separate from standard OCTA buses. Traffic signal synchronization will increase traffic flow through the corridors and will allow Bravo! buses to better serve new bus shelters with enhanced identity in the future. Pending available funding, the new bus shelters will display real-time bus arrival information, a convenient tool to help riders determine when their next bus will arrive.

Harbor Boulevard Bravo! Corridor

Harbor Boulevard is the busiest bus route in the county. Because of heavy ridership along this route and to reduce customer travel times, the Harbor Boulevard Corridor will be the first of three projects to be implemented by OCTA over the next two years.

The Harbor Boulevard Corridor will provide service from California State University, Fullerton to Newport Beach. Service is scheduled to begin in summer 2010.

Station stops along the route will provide easy access to these key destinations:

  • California State University, Fullerton
  • Fullerton College
  • Fullerton Transportation Center
  • Anaheim Resort Area/Disneyland
  • Triangle Square
  • Newport Beach Pier

You’ll find more information about operations and funding on the Bravo! Harbor Boulevard Corridor Fact Sheet.

Westminster/17th Street Bravo! Corridor

The Westminster/17th Street Corridor is the second of three projects to be implemented by OCTA over the next two years. This project is scheduled for implementation in fall 2010.

Service on the Westminster/17th Street Corridor will operate along an east-west route between The Depot at Santa Ana and Long Beach.

Station stops along the route will provide easy access to these key destinations:

  • VA Hospital/California State University, Long Beach
  • Santa Ana Civic Center
  • Santa Ana College
  • The Depot at Santa Ana

You’ll find more information about operations and funding on the Bravo! Westminster/17th Street Corridor Fact Sheet.

Bristol/State College Boulevard Bravo! Corridor

The Bristol/State College Boulevard Corridor is the third of three projects to be implemented by OCTA over the next two years. This project is scheduled for completion in late 2010.

The Bristol/State College Boulevard route will link the cities of Brea, Fullerton, Anaheim, Orange, Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, and Irvine.

Station stops along the route will provide easy access to these key destinations:

  • Brea Mall
  • California State University, Fullerton
  • Anaheim Metrolink Station
  • South Coast Plaza
  • Irvine Business District
  • UC Irvine (proposed)
  • Irvine Station

You’ll find more information about operations and funding on the Bravo! Bristol/State College Boulevard Corridor Fact Sheet.
