Exploring Orange County

Note that the bikeways map is currently being updated using the new data from the 2009 Commuter Bikeways Strategic Plan, and it will be made available in the near future. Look for the new 2009 edition of the Bikeways Map coming soon!

With a favorable climate throughout the year and many recreational attractions, Orange County is an ideal area for bicycling. More than 1,000 miles of on- and off-street bikeways offer a wide variety of scenery and terrain for leisurely rides or vigorous conditioning.

The map below shows current local and regional bikeways and is divided into eight sections. For a more detailed view of the bikeways, click on a section of the map. A larger view of the section will appear in a new window. Use the legend to determine the classification of bikeways, nearby transportation modes and points of interest. Each section of the map can be downloaded — just look for the link in each section.

The 2005 Orange County Bikeways Map depicts the local and regional bikeways existing as of June 2005.  While every effort was made to provide up-to-date information, please keep in mind that the bikeway routes on these maps are for information purposes only. The safety of any given bikeway at any given time cannot be guaranteed. As a bicyclist, you are expected to use good judgment and be responsible for your safety when using the bikeways.
