Measure M Freeway

On November 7, 2006, nearly seventy percent of Orange County voters approved the renewal of Measure M, a half-cent local transportation sales tax, for an additional 30 years beginning in 2011 until 2041. Renewed Measure M is expected to raise $11.8 billion to improve Orange County’s transportation system. Forty-three percent of net revenues from Renewed Measure M—$4.8 billion—is dedicated to improving Orange County freeways, the largest portion of the 30-year transportation plan.
