The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) will construct a vehicle underpass at the intersection of Placentia Avenue and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. As part of the project, the roadway will be lowered to separate car traffic from train traffic. The underpass will be located approximately 85 feet south of Crowther Avenue and 700 feet north of Fender Avenue.
During construction, Placentia Avenue will be open to travel in both directions, with cars traveling on a temporary roadway constructed just east of the current route while train traffic is diverted to a third track.
When completed, the project will move cars safely and smoothly under the railroad tracks, enhancing safety and boosting mobility.
