Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a station identifier?
A: Each Metrolink station is given a three-digit station identifier, or abbreviation. This identifier allows the text messaging service to identify the stations for which you are requesting schedule information.
Q: Where do I find the station identifier?
A: The station identifier is not located at the station. Click here for a list of station identifiers.
Q: How far in advance can I get scheduled times for Metrolink trains?
A: You can get scheduled travel times for any station along the 91 Line, OC line and IEOC Line up to two weeks ahead.
Q: What if there is more than one train that stops at my station? How can I find out what train to take?
A: The text message you receive will include the train number for the train that is scheduled to travel to your indicated destination station. Please look at the electronic sign on the outside of the train for the train number and the final destination station of the train.
